Temples in Haridwar

Haridwar, literally the Gateway to God, is where the sacred Ganga descends from the Himalayas to the plains. One of the seven holiest cities of Hinduism and a Kumbh Mela venue, Haridwar is where devotees come to bathe at Har Ki Pauri, take darshan of Mansa and Chandi Devi, and immerse the ashes of loved ones in the Ganga.

Best time to visit: October to April is ideal. Kartik Purnima and Kumbh years are exceptional.
